What we achieved for children and the community this Christmas

Every Christmas we bring the community together. From pantomimes to ice skating, circus shows to rock climbing, here's a look at what we achieved thanks to our funders, volunteers and workers.

A community christmas party

We had our annual community Christmas party!  Families packed into a beautifully decorated hall and the food alone was worth coming for: mac and cheese, fried chicken, curry goat, rice, salad, coleslaw and more.

The children threw themselves into musical statues and musical chairs, and the hall was full of noise, laughter, and festive energy. Police donated gifts for every single child in the room and the Tenants and Residents Association also contributed gifts for children too.

A pantomime for the whole estate community

We organised a pantomime performance of The Five Days of Christmas and 30 children came. Children were singing along, shouting out, and fully part of the performance. Refreshments were laid on, parents got to enjoy it alongside their kids, and everyone left in high spirits.

Children tried new activities

We took two groups of children to Lambeth Active for a packed programme of swimming, an obstacle course, soft play, bowling, karaoke, and rock climbing. We even had a rock climbing session. Each day started with a warm breakfast at base before we set off together.

We took children ice skating and for most of them, it was their very first time on the ice. We watched children go from clinging to the barrier to gliding across the rink with a huge grin on.

A trip to Winter Wonderland

We took 26 children from the estate to Hyde Park for Winter Wonderland and the Circus show. The children were buzzing before the show even started.

What next?

We aim to provide consistent, community-led support for local children and families, delivered with care and providing community cohesion.

We are proud of what we achieved this Christmas and we are already thinking about we can go bigger and better next year.
